but what does it mean, how does it work and, more importantly, how can you use it ?

After no more than ten seconds the following image was generated by the system and shown.
There must be a catch somewhere you say.
Not really, just a few conditions to use Gemini, which is software made by Google :-
- You must have a Google account
- Google likes you to use the Chrome Browser
- You can't use copy write material or use images of public personalties
