£260 must have been a lot of money then yet it included Holly Cottage which my mother inherited in 1965.

Granny Wellman

I remember looking at old photographs with my mother. That is granny Wellman, she would say. She never said that is your Great Grandmother. Of course I can now see she was my Mothers granny. I somehow thought that she was the unspoken part of the family, how wrong I was. It is only recently that I now understand who she was.

Born Rosina Collins in Devon she married George Parker from Eversley in Hampshire. I would love to know how that move came about.

My Mother said that this was not a happy marriage. George died in 1885

Rosina married Abraham Wellman in 1887. His page is here Abraham Wellman
